Camel (Albino) Contemplating Needle (Large)

Another project commissioned by Beyer Projects, the sculpture “Camel (Albino) Contemplating Needle (Large)” by John Baldessari brings together beliefs from various cultures, drawing references from the Quran, the Bible, and the Midrash. This life-sized portrayal features a dromedary with an extended neck, gazing curiously at a super-sized needle, prompting viewers to contemplate the possibility of it passing through the needle’s eye. The colorless creature, with its vivid blue eyes, evokes both intrigue and peculiarity, particularly as it is devoid of its natural pigment and fur.
