Tumbling Tacks

This piece was commissioned by Holtermann Fine Art and was unveiled in 2009 at the Kistefos Museum.
The sculpture consists of four gigantic red and blue drawing pins that appear to be falling down a hillside in the Kistefos Sculpture Garden, located on the site of the former Kistefos Pulp Mill.
The four massive pins are made of steel, fiberglass and gelcoat, measuring 5.5 meters in width and 2.25 meters in height, with a weight ranging from 3.5 to 5.5 metric tonnes each.
Despite being anchored to the ground with concrete blocks, they give the impression of freely tumbling down the 45-degree slope.

Year2009
